Chapman Athletics Hall of Fame (est. 1979)
Gross captained the track and cross country teams for the Panthers in the mid 1950s, setting school records in the 1500 meters, the half-mile and the mile with a record-setting time of 4.19.8 in 1957. He twice earned the Selvin Trophy as the MVP of the cross country team in 1954-55 and 1957-58 and earned the Doner Trophy as Chapman's track and field MVP in 1958. He also served as vice president of his senior class in 1957-58.
