Chapman Athletics Hall of Fame (est. 1979)
Maimbourg set two track and field records as a junior in 1964 that still stand today: the 100-yard dash with a time of 9.8 seconds (equaled on three different occasions) and the pole vault mark of 14' 9". A versatile athlete and team captain, Maimbourg competed in nine different events (six running, three field) in his two seasons at Chapman. He was named the Panthers' track and field Athlete of the Year in '64 and earned more points (204) that season than the combined total of Chapman teams from the previous five seasons from 1959-63. Maimbourg went on to coach track and field at various high schools and colleges, including Chapman from 1972-75.
