ORANGE, Calif. – A dozen goals set a new single match scoring record for the Chapman University men's soccer team in a 12-1 rout of Bethesda on Tuesday. Ten different Panthers got in on the scoring action as the Panthers (2-0-1) equaled the most number of goals scored in a single match in the NCAA Division III this season.

The school record-breaking effort took less than two minutes to get started as Tobi Howe scored his third goal of the season just 1:39 into the match. Howe ended the match as one of three Panthers to score twice as he headed in a corner kick early in the second half.

Aidan Wall and Sherwin Salehi each added a pair of goals with both scoring twice in the second half. JD Vlcek scored once in the first half and assisted on the next two goals to boost the lead to 6-0.

Jonah Friang, Ryan Bridge and Dylan Paine all scored in the first half with Garrett Lindfelt scoring the final goal of the afternoon. He also assisted on Salehi's second goal.

The Panthers broke the previous school scoring record of nine goals – accomplished four times since 1993. The high-scoring Panthers have scored 18 goals in their first two home games.

Chapman hosts its Alumni Game on Saturday before taking on San Diego Christian on Monday at 7 p.m. on Wilson Field.
