ORANGE, Calif. –  The Chapman University men's soccer team played visiting Redlands to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday. Opportunities were hard to come by through the full 90 minutes as just one shot found its way on goal.
A first half shot off a free kick from Redlands was the only shot on target from either side, Otto Richter made the easy catch to keep the goal out of the net.
The teams battled in the midfield and both back lines cleared away any dangerous ball into the box. In the second half, both teams hit a post as they tried to crack the scoreboard. Both were struck well and rattled throughout the stadium but the ball bounced harmlessly away.
Hudson Weinberger hit the post for the Panthers, firing off a shot from his right foot and hitting the near post.
The Panthers picked up a big point against the first-place Bulldogs to stay in a three-way tie for second place with La Verne and CMS. The Panthers are back home on Saturday to take on Pomona-Pitzer at 7 p.m.
