ORANGE, Calif — The Chapman University women's lacrosse team started fast and sealed the deal early over the Cal Lutheran Regals on Wednesday, Mar. 2, 18-4 at Wilson Field.

The Panthers opened the match with seven goals in the first quarter. Junior Corinn Valeri scored both of her goals in that period, and sophomore Anna Klose tallied two of her game-high five scores within the first 15 minutes.

Chapman, more specifically Klose, kept their foot on the gas heading into the second frame.

The attacker scored three consecutive goals in a minute-and-a-half span to stretch the Panther lead to nine, 10-1.

Chapman's offense traded goals with the Regals for the remainder of the half and went into the locker room with a ten point lead.

Not much changed coming out into the second half. The Panthers stayed dominant both offensively and defensively. The Panthers caused thirteen turnovers, and kept the Regals offense at bay all evening — only allowing Cal Lutheran's offense to take six shots the whole game.

Around the field, four Panthers finished with two or more goals — Valeri, Klose, Emily Allen, and Annika Carlson — and Klose being the only player with more than two.

Chapman also dominated the possession game, winning the draw controls 18-8 and converting 11 of 13 clears.

With the win, the Panthers move to 1-2 on the season, and 1-2 in SCIAC. The Regals fell to 0-2.

Chapman's next game is at home against Aurora University at home on Saturday, Mar. 5.
