THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The Chapman University women's water polo team dropped four games over the weekend of Feb. 28-March 1 at the Tina Finali Invitational hosted by Cal Lutheran at the Samuelson Aquatics Center in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

On Saturday, Chapman (1-4 overall) fell to No. 13-ranked Loyola Marymount University 16-4 and then lost to No. 20-ranked Santa Clara University 16-6 that afternoon. On Sunday, the Panthers were unable to break their two-game losing streak and fell 9-5 to Villanova University and then 13-9 to Cal State East Bay.

Senior Kirsten Spicer protected the goal in all four games recording 34 blocks while allowing 48 goals. On Sunday, she had a season-high of 13 blocks against CSU East Bay.

Senior utility Riley Ford finished the weekend with two goals and four steals and now ranks fifth all time in CU history for career goals (133) and in career steals (167).

Chapman looks to break its four-game losing streak and avenge Division I opponent Villanova on Wednesday, Mach 4 at 7 p.m. at Allred Aquatics Center in its home opener. The Panthers will then travel to Claremont, Calif. for four matches in the Claremont-Convergence Tournament, beginning with Fresno Pacific on Friday, March 6 at 10 a.m. at the Axelrod Pool (Pomona-Pitzer).
