ORANGE, Calif. – A standout junior season has resulted in All-American honors for pitcher Rose Malen. The National Fastpitch Coaches Association selected Malen to the Third Team in an announcement made at the NCAA Division III Championship Banquet.
Malen became the first Chapman softball student-athlete to earn a spot on the NFCA's All-American teams since 2007 and the 24th All-American in the program's Division III history. She is a three-time All-Region and All-SCIAC selection but was named the SCIAC Pitcher of the Year for the first time in her career in 2025.
The right hander from San Rafael, Calif. put up career-best numbers in 2025. Her 1.48 ERA was a career low by over half of a run. She recorded career-highs with 151.1 innings, 16 wins, 17 complete games, seven shutouts, four saves and 120 strikeouts. She posted career-lows in allowing just 13 walks and an opposing batting average of .217.
Malen was also the SCIAC Tournament MVP after posting a pair of shutouts in the tournament, as well as an All-Tournament selection at the NCAA Regional at Linfield.
She led the Panthers to their third NCAA Tournament appearance in four years and their first regional final appearance in 20 years. Chapman finished the season with a 33-11 overall record.
