ORANGE, Calif. – The 1-2 punch in the circle for the Chapman University softball team both earned All-Region honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Rose Malen earned First Team honors while Jillian Kelly was selected to the Third Team.
Malen's first career First Team selection comes on the heels of a 2025 season that also earned her SCIAC Pitcher of the Year honors. The All-Region nod is her third career honor. She was Chapman's first First Team selection since 2019 and just the third First Teamer since 2013. Malen finished the regular season with a 1.23 ERA and 15-4 record – both career-best marks. She struck out 112 batters and walked just nine for one of the best strikeout-to-walk ratios in Division III.
Kelly joined Malen as an All-Region selection with the Third Team honor. She earns her second career All-Region award with the 2025 selection. Kelly won her first 10 decisions of the year, posting a 2.30 ERA with a 12-3 record in her senior season. She struck out 69 and walked 17 while holding opponents to a .218 batting average.
The pair of All-Region nods this season gives Chapman eight All-Region selections in the last four years.
The Panthers continue in the NCAA Regional today, taking on Johnson & Wales at 2:30 p.m. in an elimination game.
