Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ORANGE, Calif.— Chapman women's water polo faced off against Division I programs Marist College and San Diego State University at the Claremont Convergence which the Panthers are serving as a host site for.

Against SDSU, the Panthers fell 18-8 but showed flashes of potential. Senior star attacker Alyssa Fricker put away another five goals while assisting on one. Goalkeeper Zoey Francis saved 17 shots on goal and had two steals. Kendall Pappan, Nina Bastick and Meg Peters also put away a goal each.

Despite best efforts, the Aztecs proved to be too much to handle. Sophia Righetti had four goals while six other Aztecs scored two goals each. The Panthers kept things close going into the second half, trailing by just one goal, but SDSU put away eight in the third quarter alone.

Against Marist College, Chapman put up a much closer fight, trailing by just one goal 12-11 at the start of the fourth quarter. The Panthers ended up falling to Marist 15-11 by game's end. Despite that loss, Fricker shined yet again with seven total points and six goals for the game. She simply could not be denied as she kept Chapman within fighting distance the entire evening offensively. Defensively, Francis once again stepped up as goalkeeper, making 17 saves in the second game alone. Kate Launius also netted one goal and had two assists to contribute to Chapman's fight late in the third quarter.

Chapman will return home again on Saturday, Mar. 1 to face off against Concordia Irvine and UC Merced at 11:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. respectively. The Panthers will also host day two of the Claremont Convergence serving as a host site for seven more games in total.
