AZUSA, Calif. – The women's 4x400m relay team took down a school and SCIAC record at the Franson Last Chance Meet at Azusa Pacific. The Chapman University track & field teams looked to firm up individual qualifiers for the NCAA Championships.

Kaylee Smith, Allie Kremer, Proud Kitnitchiva and Sarah Charles combined to run a 3:47.46 in the 4x400m relay, breaking a 34-year old SCIAC record. The record-breaking time currently ranks as the seventh-fastest in Division III this season.

Annika Carlson also moved her name up the qualifying list in the 3000m steeplechase. Carlson broke her own school record with a 10:45.30 and now ranks 13th in Division III.

The women's 4x100m relay team bettered its own school record that was set when the Panthers finished first at the SCIAC Championships two weeks ago. Khyra Stiner, Smith, Kremer and Ariana Raphael clocked a 46.75 and also rank seventh in the nation.

Jesse McMillan cleared 4.79 meters (15-feet, 8.5-inches) on his third vault and attempted a new career-best at 4.94 meters but did not clear the bar. His outdoor best of 4.80 meters currently ranks 24th in Division III.

The Panthers will have one final chance to move into an NCAA qualifying spot at the upcoming Redlands Last Chance Meet on May 15-16. The field for all events at the NCAA Division III Championships will be announced on Friday.
