ORANGE, Calif. – Three school records fell as the Chapman University track & field teams took second place in the SCIAC Quad Cup. The men's and women's teams combined for 295 points to finish behind CMS but well in front of Occidental and Pomona-Pitzer.

Eva Ndoye and Lindsey Gray continued record-breaking seasons. Ndoye broke a nearly 40-year old school record in the javelin while Gray broke the triple jump record she set just one week ago. The men's 4x400m relay broke the third school record of the night.

Ndoye's record-breaking throw bettered the only remaining women's school record from Chapman's Division II era. Her throw of 37.75 meters (123-feet, 10-inches) came on her final attempt and placed her third in the event. She also won the shot put and placed seventh in the discus.

Gray's record-breaking jumps won the triple jump and surpassed the record she set last week by nine centimeters. Her second jump – against a slight headwind – covered 11.24 meters (36-feet, 10.5-inches) She also placed second in the long jump.

Chloe Mitchell won the discus as Chapman and Ashley Granger took second in the hammer for other top performers in the field events. Three Panthers also took second in all three sprint events – Makenna Lizarde in the 100m, Audrey Helwig in the 200m and Sarah Charles in the 400m.

The men's 4x400m relay crossed the finish line with a winning and school record time of 3:13.42, which is the third-fastest time in Division III this season. The Panthers swept the relay events on the men's side as the 4x100m relay also took the win with a 47.87.

Thatch Balady won the pole vault as he cleared five meters (16-feet, 4.75-inches) for the first time in his career. The Panthers went 1-2 in the event as Derek Amlicke took second place. Balady's PR is the third-highest mark in Division III this season.

Asher Cleary matched his personal-best and won the high jump as he was the only one to clear 1.95 meters (6-feet, 4.75-inches), doing so on his final attempt.

Mason Fara ran a 47.68 to win the 400m and placed second in the 200m while Lucas Turano took second place in the 800m.

A Panthers took second in both jump events as Isaac Robin placed second in the triple jump and Tanner Moore took second in the long jump with a new personal-best of 6.49 meters.
