Track & field wraps up record-breaking season at Redlands Last Chance

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University track & field team wrapped up the 2026 season at the Redlands Last Chance meet with two more record-breaking performances. Several Panthers solidified their place in the national rankings for a bid to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

The men's 4x400m relay team broke the school relay record once again and moved up to 10th in Division III with a 3:10.91. The Panthers put together their best time in school history to stay in the top-16 with the selections being announced on Friday afternoon.

Thatch Balady also solidified his spot at nationals as he cleared a new personal-best height of 5.01 meters (16-feet, 5.25-inches). He ranks 15th overall In Division III as he added a centimeter to his personal-best heading into the national championship.

Lindsey Gray added yet another school record jump to her accomplished 2026 season as she bettered her triple jump school record with a mark of 11.38 meters (37-feet, 4-inches). She also equaled her long jump record of 5.56 meters, which was set at the SCIAC Championships less than two weeks prior.

The championship selections for the Panthers will be officially announced at 5 p.m. on Friday with several in line to receive invitations to the national championship meet.
