REDLANDS, Calif. – Makenna Lizarde and Lindsey Gray each set school records to highlight the Redland Invitational for the Chapman University track & field teams. Gray tied her own school long jump record but surpassed the triple jump record set in 2024.
Lizarde made history with a 12.01 in the 100m dash to beat the record set by Khyra Stiner last season. She placed third in the event and ran the second fastest 100 in the SCIAC this season. Lizarde also placed eighth in the 200m.
Gray's record-setting jumps were also the longest in the SCIAC this season. Her first jump of the day covered 5.44 meters (17-feet, 10.25-inches) to equal the mark she set almost exactly one year ago. Her last triple jump attempt soared past 11 meters to 11.13 meters (36-feet, 6.25-inches) to set a new school record. She placed fourth in both events.
Chapman's other top performances saw Kayla Kim take fifth in the 100m hurdles and Sarah Charles finish third in the 400m.
Wyn Smoole led the men's team on the track with a 15.08 in the 110m hurdles to finish in fifth place. His time ranks as the third-fastest in the SCIAC this season. Derek Amlicke won the pole vault as he equaled his season-best, clearing 4.85 meters for the highest vault in the SCIAC.
