WHITTIER, Calif. — Chapman Track & Field competed at three meets over the weekend: the Pacific Coast Invitational meet on Thursday, the Bryan Clay Invite on Thursday, and SCIAC #3 on Saturday.

Pacific Coast Invitational - April 11, 2024 - Cal St. Long Beach

Mason Fara set the program's record for the 400-meter dash for the second time this year. Fara ran a 47.46, beating his previous time by three-tenths of a second. He placed sixth in a field of 68, mainly NCAA Division I and II runners.

Sam Thompson, Isaac Robin, and Jesse McMillan also competed. Robin highlighted that group, breaking a school record in the triple jump, 46'6''. He notched a 16th-place finish.

On the women's side, eight Panthers competed, and the 4 x 100 relay team tallied a 47.82 to notch 17th place in the field. Khyra Stiner, Kaylee Smith, Allison Kremer, and Makenna Lizarde all raced in the event.

Bryan Clay Invite - April 11, 2024 - Azusa Pacific University

Annika Carlson was the lone athlete competing in Azusa on Thursday. She ran an 11:02.59 in the steeplechase and placed 62nd. She was the only Division III runner in the field.

SCIAC #3 - April 13, 2024 - Whittier College

Proud Kitnitchiva headlined the women's competition with a school record in the 400-meter hurdles. Kitnitchiva's time of 1:04.78 shattered the previous program record of 1:06.06, set by Gabi Siguenza in 2019.

Kaylee Smith tallied a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash. Smith finished with a 25.27, just .04 off the program record held by her teammate Allie Kremer, who finished third in the event.

Adva Shilon took home victories in both the high jump and the pole vault, clearing 1.51 meters on the high jump and 3.35 on the pole vault.

On the men's side, Robin won the long jump, earning his first victory in that event on the season and fourth overall first-place finish in an event as a freshman.

Nick Burton won the javelin, heaving it 47.71 meters. He's won the javelin throw each of the three times he's competed in the event in 2024. Finishing off the field events, Kyle Yamazaki placed second in the high jump, clearing 1.8 meters.

Fara placed third in the 100 and second in the 200 and was .01 seconds off his school-record time of 21.75 in the 200.
