Box Score REDLANDS, Calif. — Chapman Women's Water Polo clinched a spot in the SCIAC tournament with a 12-11 win over Redlands on Monday, April 8. Although the Panthers played in the tourney in 2021 – with a shortened four-team field due to COVID-19 – it was the first time they qualified for the tournament since 2016.
Chapman also earned its winningest season in the SCIAC era, as the Panthers have seven conference victories with two contests still to play.
The Panthers are led by Alyssa Fricker who leads Division III in goals scored with 85. She leads the nation by 11 goals and the SCIAC by 22. The two-time All-American tallied five scores in the Panthers' win over the Bulldogs.
Chapman's freshman sensation, Kendall Pappan, is sixth in the SCIAC in scoring and second in points behind Fricker. The duo has combined for 136 goals.
Defensively, Georgina Burton's 151 saves are fourth in the conference, and her 52% save percentage is second.
The Panthers will finish the regular season with a home game against Cal Lutheran on Wednesday, April 17, but not before a big matchup for the second seed with Claremont-M-S on Saturday, April 13, in Claremont.
