ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University track & field teams spread out to compete in three meets last week with solid results all around. Annika Carlson broke her own school record in the steeplechase.

Carlson ran a tight race at the Mangrum Invitational with a fellow Division III runner from Middlebury. Carlson finished more than 10 seconds faster than her previous school record with a 10:50.96 and was just a quarter of a second behind her competitor. The two turned in the fastest steeplechase times in DIII this season.

Makenna Lizarde also had a solid mark with a 25.30 in the 200m dash to tie the school record set last year. Other top marks from Friday's meet came from Kaylee Smith's 58.42 to take fifth in the 400,
Mason Fara's 21.86 to finish eighth in the 200 and
Gavin White's time of 32.54.32 in the 10k. White's time is the fastest in Chapman's Division III history.

Nick Burton and
Davis Endow also finished 1-2 in the javelin with Burton's winning throw of 52.43 meter (172-feet).

While Fara and the women's relay team competed at the Aztec Invitational on Saturday, the rest of the Panthers took on the Team 4 Titus and Ely Meet at Concordia University Irvine. Adva Shilon took home two wins in the field events, winning both the pole vault and high jump while Nyli Greer won the triple jump for the women's team.

Jesse McMillan also won the men's pole vault and
Isaac Robin won the men's triple jump.
Asher Cleary and Kyle Yamazaki tied for the top mark in the men's high jump, clearing 1.85 meters (6-feet, 0.75-inches).

On the track, Sarah Charles 1:00.69 placed her second in the 400m and Passion Washington ran a wind-aided 15.10 to win the 100m hurdles. John Bosch's time of 22.82 won the men's 200m dash.

The Panthers head to SCIAC Multi-Dual #2 next week, hosted at the University of Redlands.
