ORANGE, Calif. — Chapman track & field returned to action at Mt. San Antonio College over the weekend at the Kamaka Invite.
Chapman saw success on the track as two school records were broken and another was tied.
Adva Shilon tied the school record in the high jump. She was the only jumper to clear the 1.6-meter mark, winning the event.
Gavin White placed first in the 3000-meter dash, notching a program-best time of 8:52.05. That mark is the best in the Panthers' Division III era.
Passion Washington's time of 15.34 in the 100-meter hurdles proved to be the best in school history. She placed fifth in the event.
Other notable finishes on the women's side came from Brenda Daza winning the 3000, the 4 x 100 relay team placing second, Jadyn Ayala winning the shot put, and Katarina Maric placing second in the 400 hurdles.
On the men's side, the 4 x 400 relay team earned a second-place finish, the 4 x 100 relay team placed third, Sean Longley finished second in the shot put, Asher Cleary earned a third-place finish in the javelin, and Derek Amlicke placed second in the pole vault.
Track & Field returns to action next weekend. The Panthers will split with a portion of athletes traveling to Waverly, Iowa, for an indoor meet from Mar. 1-2, and the remainder of the squad heading to Caltech for SCIAC Multi-Dual #1 on March 2.Â
