PORTLAND, Ore. – Annika Carlson ran into All-Region honors as the Chapman University cross country teams competed at the NCAA Division III West Regionals on Saturday. The women's team placed 13th in the region while the men's team placed 14th.
Carlson paced the Panthers once again with a 15th place individual finish. She ran a 21:44.4 in the 6k race. She was the lone Panther to earn All-Region with her top-35 finish. Brenda Daza was next to finish in 44th overall at 22:48.0 and Rayna Carranza took 86th with a 23:43.8.
On the men's side, Lucas Turano led the way for the Panthers. His time of 25:56.8 placed him 63rd overall in the 8k race. Gavin White was next to cross the finish line at 26:28.0 and Lorenzo Collier was right behind him at 26:29.2. They placed 92nd and 93rd, respectively.
The Panthers season comes to a close as a team but Carlson will await the announcement of the NCAA Division III Championship field tomorrow at noon to see if she qualifies as an individual.
