Spartenburg, SC — Brenda Daza finished up competing at her first her NCAA Division III Nationals in South Carolina Saturday morning, placing 103rd in the field. Daza raced the 6k in a time of 22:48. She is just the fifth woman in the Division III era of the cross country program to make it to Nationals. 

Daza leaves behind her junior season as the breakout star of the program, breaking former teammate Annika Carlson's record in the 6k. 

"Brenda ran a smart race and gave her all on the national stage," Cross Country head coach Mircea Bogdan said. "She has had a great season and we could not be more proud. This experience will serve her so well coming into her senior season." 

Daza will pick up competition as a distance runner during the track & field season, set to start in late January.
