LA VERNE, Calif. – The Chapman University swimming & diving teams dominated in their return to the pool with convincing dual meet victories over La Verne. The High Tops won every event as the Panthers cruised to a 181-30 win while the Low Tops won all but two events in a 178-46 victory.
In total, the Panthers won 24 of 26 events in the short meet at La Verne with wins in 20 of 22 swimming events and all four diving events. McKenzie Abbott won both diving events for the High Tops while Reid Omillian took the win on the 3-meter board and
Jake Randazzo won on the 1-meter board for the Low Tops.
Abby Sellman was one of the leaders for the women's team, winning both the 200 back and 200 IM. Maxim Polovinkin won the 200 breast and 200 IM for the Low Tops.
Kiana Tanizaki-Hudson and Asher Kocalis each won a pair of events as both took the 200 fly and 200 free for the High Tops and Low Tops, respectively. Sara Talmaci swept the long distance freestyle events as well.
The Panthers return to Allred Pool next Saturday to take on Occidental and Colorado College.
