Swim & Dive top both Tigers in double-dual

ORANGE, Calif. — Swimming and Diving took home three victories and a tie in the Saturday, Jan. 11 double-dual meet between Colorado College and Occidental. The high tops beat Occidental 222-74 and Colorado College 161-139. The low tops bested Occidental 231-67 and tied Colorado College 150-150.

After Occidental placed one spot ahead of the high tops in the 2023 SCIAC Championships, the Panthers made a statement by defeating Oxy convincingly. 

SWIM

  • The Panthers won all four relays.

  • Truman Inglis won the 100 and 200 Free and anchored the 400 relay victory.

  • Trenten Calloway had a big win in the 200 Fly by nearly three seconds. Calloway won the 100 Fly as well.

  • Cole Kershner continued his 50 Free dominance, winning by over .5 seconds. 

  • Kiana Tanizaki-Hudson won two individual events and two relays. She won the 200 Fly by five seconds with a time of 2:09.7 and the 100 Fly by nearly two seconds.

  • Avery Hall returned to the pool to win the 50 and 100 Free.

DIVE

  • Reid Omilian took second in the one-meter and third in the three-meter, while Jake Randazzo placed third in the one-meter and second in the three-meter.

  • The three-meter dive was decided by less than two points, with Randazzo scoring 1.1 below the winner and Omilian 1.3 below him.

  • McKenzie Abbot was the top Panther finisher in the one-meter and three-meter, placing third in both.

The Panthers return to the pool in two weeks to face Caltech and Pomona-Pitzer at 10/11 a.m. at the Allred Aquatics Center.
