Softball falls in regular season finale

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Chapman University softball team fell 16-3 in the regular season finale at Redlands on Sunday. The Panthers head into the SCIAC Tournament as the No. 2 seed after finishing the SCIAC season with an 8-7 record.

The Bulldogs hit three home runs and scored multiple runs in all four innings to clinch the run-rule victory.

Senior Mykala Tokunaga went 2-for-2 with an RBI in the game. Junior Rani Lauwers drove in the Panthers first run with a sacrifice fly to short left field in the first inning. Junior Julia Muniz walked with the bases loaded to bring in another run.

Chapman will host La Verne on Friday for the first game of the SCIAC Tournament.
