Men's tennis swept by nationally-ranked Bates

ORANGE, Calif. –  The Chapman University men's tennis team dropped a match Tuesday suffering a 9-0 loss to the visiting Bates College men's tennis team.

Nationally-ranked No. 19 Bates College made quick work of Chapman in their season debut, sweeping all three doubles matches followed by straight set victories in all singles matches. Chapman's sophomore Darrus Lee and freshman Terry Kang put up a hard fought battle in their doubles match against Vidyut Yadav and Duane Davis despite losing the match 8-6.

Kang also played well in singles in a tough match against his opponent Jacob Eisenberg but lost 6-3, 6-2. Sophomore Len Kamemoto also fell 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 1 singles match.

The Panthers will get a few weeks rest and will be back on the court on Thursday March 8 against Christopher Newport University at the Lastinger Tennis Center at 1 p.m.
