Izmirian honored on All-SCIAC First Team, Krantz on Second Team

This is the second career All-SCIAC honor for Izmirian and first for Krantz.

ORANGE, Calif. – Junior Aram Izmirian and freshman James Krantz were each recognized on the All-SCIAC team, released by the conference on Wednesay. Izmirian was recognized on the All-SCIAC First Team and Krantz earned a spot on the Second Team. Izmirian earned his second career All-SCIAC recognition. 

Izmirian played at the top of the singles and doubles lineup for the Panthers in one of the top Division III conferences in the nation. He won a pair of matches in conference play on the top singles and won another pair of matches in doubles.

He played in every match in singles and doubles this season, going 8-11 in singles. Last season, he earned Second Team recognition after playing in the No. 2 spot in the lineup but moved up to the top court as a junior.

Krantz joined the Panthers this year and immediately jumped into the top half of the lineup, going 4-3 in singles while playing at No. 2. He also went 3-4 on the middle doubles court with partner Ian Jordan. Overall, Krantz won four of his last six matches to close the season.

The Panthers finished the season with a win over Whittier and placed sixth in the All-SCIAC standings under first year head coach Evan Parry.
