VENTURA, Calif.. – The Chapman University women's golf team opened up the 2026-27 season with a sixth place finish at the CA State Intercollegiate. Nika Gholami led Chapman individually in 13th.

Gholami finished six over par for the tournament, shooting a 74 in the second and final round to climb two spots on the leaderboard. Annette Parker debuted for the Panthers with a top-20 finish at 10-over for the two rounds.

As a team, the Panthers started slow but shaved off 19 strokes in the second round to mover from seventh and into a tie for sixth.

Chapman next heads to the Danish Classic in Solvang, Calif. on Oct. 4-6.
