ORANGE, Calif. — Chapman swim & dive wrapped up competition on day one at the 2026 SCIAC meet out at East Los Angeles College (ELAC).
Men's diving comes away from day one of the SCIACs after dominating in the three meter finals. Senior star
Reid Omilian took second, freshman breakout star
Aidan Trautwein placed third and fellow senior star
Jake Randazzo finished in fourth. Omilian scored 508.55 points, Trautwein scored 466.55 points and Randazzo finished with 460.95 points.
The Panthers swept three of the top four spots, finishing just behind Thomas Matheis from Pomona-Pitzer. Under 50 points seperated the three-headed monster that is Chapman's divers. Randazzo finished over 60 points ahead of the fifth place finisher who had 398.50 points from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
On the swimming side, the team had four relays podium. The high tops earned second in the 200 medley relay, and third in the 800 freestyle relay. The low tops earned second in the 200 medley relay and third in the 800 free relay.
In the 200 medley relay on the low tops side,
Riley Coleman,
James Galligan,
Trent Calloway and
Cooper Na went a 1:30.71, falling in second by less than half a second. In the 800 free relay on the low tops side, Calloway,
Alex Landmark,
Brody Perkins and Galligan placed third going a 6:45.69.
In the 200 medley relay on the high tops side,
Cora Buelow,
CJ Smith,
Megan Lei and
Alyssa Kooy finished in third going a 1:46.04. In the 800 free style relay for the high tops, Buelow,
Elise Kittleson,
Maizie Stricker and Annika Mittlesteadt finished in third going a 7:49.42.
Through day one of competition, Chapman sits in second place on the low tops end only trailing Claremont-Mudd-Scripps by five points and fourth place on the high tops end with 87 points. Heading into the second day of competition, the low tops will compete in the one meter men's diving finals. Swimmers will compete in the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle, and 400 medley relay finals. Action begins again Thursday at 1:30 PM for diving, and 6 PM for swimming at ELAC.
