ORANGE, Calif.— Chapman swim and dive held their own in an All-SCIAC duel meet against Caltech and Pomona-Pitzer Saturday afternoon. The high tops went 1-1, defeating Caltech 174-101 and fell to Pomona-Pitzer 195-97. The low tops also went 1-1, defeating Caltech 171-127 and fell to Pomona-Pitzer 174-121.
Divers on the low tops side dominated yet again. On the three meter,
Aidan Trautwein put up 390.75 points,
Reid Omilian put up 360.203.60 points and
Jake Randazzo put up 333.60 points finishing second through fourth in the aforementioned order. On the one meter, Omilian took the win putting up 338.95 points. Randazzo scored 322.20 points and Trautwein followed in suit putting up 281.70 points.
On the high tops side, sprinter
Alyssa Kooy broke the school record in the medley relay when she swam the 50 yard freestyle going a blistering 23.18. Her team ended up second overall with a time of 4:00.57. Breaststroke specialist
Alexandra Marumoto dominated in the 100 yard breaststroke going a 1:07.63. In the 200 yard breaststroke, she went a 2:26.95 and took first in both events.
On the low tops side,
Jude Light held his own in the 200 yard butterfly going a 1:52.08 where he took second.
Dean Koenders held his own in the 100 yard individual medley going a 53.25.
As SCIACs loom in mid-February, the Panthers are entering the final month of competition and their final duel meet of the season. They will travel to Thousand Oaks to compete at Cal Lutheran on Saturday, Feb. 7.
