ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's tennis team fell 5-2 to visiting Redlands on Saturday. The Panthers captured the doubles point but a strong singles effort led the comeback for Redlands.

Wins in the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches gave the Panthers the early advantage. Caleb Wilkins and Ben Jorgenson took the 6-2 victory at No. 1 while Aram Izmirian and Julian Sanseverino won 6-3 at No. 3.

Izmirian was able to keep the momentum into his singles match with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2 but the Bulldogs captured the rest of the singles matches, winning several close sets in four straight set victories. The No. 5 match with Chapman's Mac Caldwell went into a third set before a narrow 7-5 third set went to Redlands.

Chapman is back home on Tuesday for another SCIAC match with Caltech at 4 p.m.
