ORANGE, Calif.— Chapman women's golf finished fourth at the Cal Lutheran Invitational as
Nika Gholami finished second to lead the team. Gholami shot +10 total for whole tournament finishing just behind Holly Obermuller from Moorepark Community College.
Gholami ended up shooting 72 by the end of round two to set the tone for the rest of the team.
Pippa Goodbody finished 13th at +21 while
Kylie Nguyen finished just behind her teammate in 17th at +22.
Lillie Dayton finished 22nd at +26 while
Ella Michitsch and
Payton Anderson tied for 28th at +33.
The Panthers finished ranked in front of Lewis & Clark College, University of Dallas and Pacific Lutheran.
On the men's side, Chapman finished 11th on the Kingsmen side of the invite.
Conner Conley led the way for the men's side finishing just outside the top 20 going a +6. Behind him,
Ben Soicher finished 37th at +11, while
Clay Yarbro and
Cormack Meldrum finished 41st at +12. Rounding out the group,
Vinny Fanucchi rounded out play ranking 68th while going a +21 for the tournament.
The Panthers placed ahead of Pacific Lutheran, Swarthmore and St. Thomas of Texas. Meanwhile, Cal Lutheran won the invite.
The women's team will compete next at the UCSC Invite in Pacific Grove, Calif. March 28-30. The men's team will compete next at the Sonoma State Invite March 24-25 in Rohnert, Calif.
