ORANGE, Calif. — Max Polovinkin from Chapman Swim & Dive and Layla Woods from Chapman Women's Basketball have been named the SCIAC Athletes of the Week. 

Polovinkin set a new program record at the Winter Invite in the 50 breaststoke swimming a blistering 2:02.18 and earned a new school record for his 50 breaststroke split in the 200 medley relay. He went a 25.30. Polovinkin placed near the top of the SCIAC in the 200 breast taking second among the conference, and seventh overall. 

Woods had a blistering 18 points and eight rebounds against George Fox. The junior went seven for eight from the field in the second half and led Chapman on the comeback charge to win by 12 points after being down by as many as five points early in the second half.
