Swim & Dive dominates on senior day

ORANGE, Calif.— Chapman swim and dive celebrated 14 seniors on senior day as they dominated defeating Occidental College and Concordia University Irvine at home. The low tops who represent the men's program defeated Occidental 229-59. The high tops who represent the women's side defeated Occidental 213.50-77.50 and Concordia 229.00-39.00. 

Chapman celebrated the following seniors: Alexis Anderson, Tatum Chambers, Miles Duncan, Sebastian Herrera, Caroline Kundahl, Grace Littrell, Annika Mittelsteadt, Reid Omilian, Jake Randazzo, Nick Ross, George Sholton, Sydney Snider, Clara Van Note and Noah Williams

Chambers led the way on the women's side swimming a 24.59 in the 50 freestyle and 55.23 in the 100 freestyle. Maizie Stricker led the distance and middle distance groups going a 4:45.32 in the 400 Individual Medley and 2:16.54 in the 200 backstroke. Mittelsteadt rounded out another strong senior performance, going a 57.38 in the 100 freestyle. Then, she expanding her skill set to complete the mile swim (1650 freestyle) in just under 18:54. 

Senior dynamic diving duo Omilian and Randazzo dominated yet again on the boards joined by freshman star Aidan Trautwein. Trautwein won on the one meter putting up 361.50 points with Omilian following behind putting up a blistering 348.80 and Randazzo coming in third with 316.15 points. Omilian won the one meter putting up 350.50 points then Randazzo came in second putting up 312.00 and Trautwein came in third putting up 303.05 points. 

On the low tops side, Cooper Na highlighted the day earning a new pool record leading off the 400 freestyle relay splitting a 46.16. He also notched a 46.62 in the 100 freestyle and 149.96 in the 200 freestyle. On the distance side, Ryan Musich and Derek Jones chipped away some of the most dominant times on the day. Musich went a 16:25.29 in the mile swim (1650 freestyle). Jones went a 4:47.32 in the 500 and 16:49.38 in the mile. 

Chapman will look to continue building momentum as they entering the final weeks of their season. They will host UC Santa Cruz on Saturday, Jan. 24 at the Allred Olympic Pool.
