ORANGE, Calif. – Olivia Harrison and Olivia Sampson earned All-SCIAC recognition following standout junior seasons. Both land Second Team honors.
Sampson earned her first career recognition in her third year with the Panthers. The outside hitter led the Panthers and ranked fourth in the conference with 3.17 kills per set in SCIAC matches. She also hit .208 on the year. In the Panthers five-set upset of La Verne, Sampson recorded a career-high 17 kills to lead the Panthers to the victory. She sparked an eight-match streak with double digit kills and ended the season with double digit kills in 11 of 16 matches.
Harrison earned her first career honor at Chapman after transferring in from the College of San Mateo. The middle blocker led the Panthers and ranked sixth in the conference with a .292 hitting percentage in SCIAC matches. She also ranked fifth in blocks with 0.95 per match. She hit .300 or better in seven of the 16 SCIAC matches, including a season-best .519 hitting percentage with a season-best 16 kills against Pomona-Pitzer.
The Panthers finished the season 12-16 overall and in fifth place in the SCIAC standings, qualifying for the SCIAC Tournament First Round.
