Women's tennis falls to CMS in SCIAC semis

Claremont, Calif. – The Chapman University women's tennis team bowed out of the SCIAC Tournament with a 5-0 loss to top-seeded Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. The Panthers end the season with a 10-9 overall record – seven more wins than a year ago.

The Athenas quickly took the lead with 8-0 win in all three doubles matches. SCIAC Athlete of the Year Catherine Allen matched up with the Newcomer of the Year Alisa Ogranovich in the top singles match but CMS' Allen came away with the 6-0, 6-0 win.

Freshman Vasilisa Trofimova fell 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 5 match as CMS clinched the match.

The Panthers turnaround launched them into the top-30 in the nation this year and a No. 7 ranking in the West Region in the NCAA regional rankings.
