Trio of newcomers for women's tennis in 2026-27

Head coach Evan Parry's first recruiting class brings in three freshmen.

ORANGE, Calif. – Head coach Evan Parry has announced the new additions to the Chapman University women's tennis team for the 2026-27 school year. Chapman will welcome three freshmen in the fall.

Scarlett Lutz is a state champion in singles and doubles as well as a three-star recruit. She plans to major in Health Sciences. Lutz played on the top-ranked high school team in the state of Colorado (Ralston Valley) and ranks ninth in the state individually. Lutz and her team won two 5A state team titles.

Mia Tombari is a two-star recruit from Spokane, Wash. and Gonzaga Prep. She is the No. 8 ranked prep player in the state and No. 12 in the Northwest. She will major in Business Administration in the fall.

Elly Garcia is another two-star recruit and joining the Panthers from Tucson, Ariz. She is ranked as the No. 3 player in the state and trains at the Smith-Perry Tennis Academy.

The three incoming freshmen comprise Parry's first recruiting class since taking over both the men's and women's programs in the summer of 2025. The Chapman women's tennis team finished the season 8-10 in dual matches.
