ORANGE, Calif. — The Chapman University women's tennis program ended off the 2026 season with back-to-back SCIAC wins over Occidental and Whittier in back-to-back days. They also celebrated the team's seniors
Makaylee Dahms and
Sophia Portillos.
Against Occidental Friday evening,
Lucy Wallin earned the match winning final point to seal the 4-3 win over the Tigers. Wallin competed to three sets going 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. It was Chapman's first conference win of the 2026 season.
Against Whittier Saturday, the Panthers dominated to win 7-0. In doubles, the sister duo of Makaylee and
Malina Dahms won 6-3. Then Wallin and Portillos won 6-1 the third doubles team won by default. In singles, Portillos, the Dahms sisters and Wallin all won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
Chloe McBride won 6-3, 6-4 on the number one court.
Tahlia Cahill then rounded out the dominance winning by default
Portillos made her career debut Saturday. She will graduate with her degree in Psychology, while Makaylee will earn her degree in Biological Sciences.
