Malina Dahms highlighted the weekend by making it to the final round of the main draw in Flight B. Chapman also had
Lucy Wallin win the consolation title of Flight B and newcomer
Elly Garcia made it to the consultation semi-finals.
Dahms won her first four matches against one opponent from Azusa Pacific University, and three from Redlands. She advanced to the Finals in Flight B after defeating Redlands player Hadley Allaria 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 to take the quarterfinal round. Then, Dahms took down Cal Lutheran's Anya Rajan in the semi-finals before falling in the finals to Sophie Truong out of Redlands 6-3, 6-4.
Wallin fell in the opening round 6-1, 6-2 to get knocked into the consolation bracket but went on to win the Flight B consolation championship. She defeated Kimberlie Conlin out of UC Santa Cruz in the final set 10-8 to become the champion. Wallin battled her way into the final by winning a tight semi-final match in the third set 10-7.
Garcia rounded out the group by making a splash in the semi-final, where she dropped a tough battle to Conlin 6-3, 6-4. Garcia dominated in the quarterfinals winning the match 6-0, 6-4. In the round of 16, she won 6-1, 7-5 over Chloe Khachadourian out of UC Santa Cruz.
Chapman's fall season wraps up with the regional tournament. They will return to action in the spring for the duel season.
