ANAHEIM, Calif. – The No. 37 ranked Chapman University men's tennis team fell to No. 28 Sewanee 7-2 on Saturday, at the Anaheim Hills Tennis Club.

Chapman opened the match with a win, taking one of three doubles matches. The sole Chapman win came at No. 2 as freshman Brock DeHaven and junior Josh Sarsfield defeated Alex Depascual and Scott Gallimore 8-4.

Senior Brett Buford and junior Charlie Werman pushed Eric Roddy and Jack Gray to a 9-8 contest in the No. 1 spot, while junior Sam Mitteldorf and senior Hunter Morris fell 8-6 in the No. 3 doubles spot.

In singles action, Sewanee pulled away, sweeping the first two singles matches. Bufford fell 6-1 in both sets in the No. 1 spot and Mitteldorf loss 6-2, 6-0 as the No. 2 singles player.

Werman had a strong outing in the No. 3 spot for Chapman defeating, Gray 7-6 and 6-4. The win improved the junior to 3-2 in No. 3 spot on the season.

Following Werman's win, the Tigers rolled past the Panthers sweeping the last three sets against Morris, DeHaven and sophomore Justin P. Thompson.

Chapman will continue its seven game home stand with a match against Amherst on Monday, March 14.
