ORANGE, Calif. – Tade Scheid of the women's lacrosse team and Zoey Francis of the women's water polo team were each honored as SCIAC Athletes of the Week on Monday. Scheid was named the Offensive Athlete of the Week for women's lacrosse and Francis the Defensive Athlete of the Week for water polo.

Scheid scored a hat trick as the women's lacrosse team scored a 13-11 victory over Redlands on Saturday in the only match of the week for Chapman. Two of her three goals came in the second half to help the Panthers hold off the Bulldogs. She broke a 7-7 tie to put the Panthers in front in the third quarter, sparking a four-goal run. She also scored the final goal of the match to pad the Panthers' lead to two goals. She also picked up a pair of draw controls in the win.

Francis led the women's water polo team to a 1-1 week, which clinched the four seed in the upcoming SCIAC Tournament. She averaged 16 saves per match over the two matches in a dominant week in the cage. She made 18 saves in the win over Whittier that clinched a postseason home match for the Panthers. She held the Poets to just three goals as Chapman secured the weekend victory. She also made 14 saves in a midweek loss to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

With the win over Whittier, the Panthers are now locked in to host the SCIAC Tournament First Round match on April 14 at 7 p.m.
