SANTA ANITA Calif. – A strong finish propelled the Chapman University men's golf team up the leaderboard and into a tie for third to end the season at the SCIAC Championships. Kendrick Tan's final round boosted him into the top-8 for an All-SCIAC First Team finish and Dalton Schwartz finished in the top-165 to earn All-SCIAC Second Team honors.

As a team, the Panthers were four-over par on the final day to overtake Redlands and catch Occidental to finish in a tied for third. Chapman set a new program record for a three-round tournament with a three-day total of 864 (+12) as a team.

Tan paced the record-setting effort with a program record of his own. He finished the three-day tournament three-under par with a 210 – two strokes lower than the previous 54-hole school record. His seventh place finish earned him All-SCIAC First Team honors, making him just the second Chapman men's golfer to earn First Team honors at a SCIAC Championship with a full field of teams (the 2021 championship only had four teams compete due to the COVID pandemic). He joins Bryan Wise on the short list of Chapman golfers to earn the honors.

Schwartz' magical weekend continued into the final day as he held on to 11th overall for an All-SCIAC Second Team finish. He was one-over par on the final day to finish the tournament at even par. He carded five more birdies on Saturday and ranked fifth in the tournament with 12 birdies over the three days.

Connor Conley was two-over on the final day and five-over for the tournament. He jumped up two spots to 16th. Tyler Lao finished 12-over and Nicholas Trani was 14-over for the tournament.

The Panthers finished the season with one of their best rounds of the year, jumping into the tie with Occidental for third place. CMS won the overall team title at 23-under as a team, following a 16-under final round.
