ORANGE, Calif. — Four Chapman athletes including Joe Keegan from men's basketball, Reid Omilian from men's diving representing the low tops, Makena Nitao from women's basketball and Annika Liou from women's water polo have all earned SCIAC Athlete of the Week Honors.
Keegan was named Defensive Athlete of the Week after leading the Panthers to wins over Whittier and Pomona-Pitzer. He had two steals and a block while averaging 4.5 rebounds per game over the week. He led the way for a team that kept their opponents to under 60 points, held them both to under 20 percent shooting from the three and held Pomona-Pitzer to under 30 percent shooting from the field. This is Keegan's first time earning the honor.
Omilian was named diver of the week after scoring 337.65 points on one meter placing first and 348.23 points on three meter while helping the low tops defeat Cal Lutheran in their final dual meet of the season. Omilian has earned the honor for the fifth time this season, the most of anyone in the conference.
Liou was named offensive athlete of the week after having a career game in the home opener. She netted four goals on just five attempts and led Chapman to a 20-11 win over Austin College.
Nitao won SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week. She helped stifle Pomona-Pitzer defensively. She had four steals and led Chapman to a 16 point win over the Sagehens.
