ORANGE, Calif.
— Chapman swim and dive closed out their 2025-26 home schedule Saturday hosting UC Santa Cruz at home. The low tops who represent the men's program fell 195-105. The high tops who represent the women's program fell 233-64.
The low tops diving team dominated yet again, with
Jake Randazzo,
Reid Omilian and
Aidan Trautwein sweeping the one meter and three meter competitions with ease. One one meter, Omilian finished in first with 318.15 points, Randazzo finished in second wit 312.10 points and Trautwein finished in third with 275.50 points, On three meter, Trautwein finished in first with 337.40 points, Omilian finished in second with 324.75 points and Randazzo finished in third with 310.95 points. On both events, the top three finished ahead of the fourth place finishers by roughly 50 points. They are proven to be the deepest lineup of divers in the SCIAC.
On the low tops end,
Derek Jones and
Walker Slay held their own in the 1000 yard swim placing in third and fifth. Slay went a time of 10:15.58. Jones went a time of 10:16.03. On the sprint side,
Cooper Na placed in second in the 50 yard freestyle going a 20.76 and placed second in the 100 yard freestyle going a 22.12.
On the high tops end,
Alyssa Kooy held it down once again, going a 24.38 in the 50 yard freestyle where she placed first. Kooy also placed second in the 100 freestyle sprint going a 52.70. In the 400 yard freestyle relay, the women's side placed in the top three going a 3:40.79. The team consisted of
Cora Buelow,
Tatum Chambers,
Elena Warner and Kooy.
Chapman will look to regain momentum as they prepare to head to Pasadena to face off against Caltech and Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday, Jan.31.
