Swim & Dive holds own against Colorado College

ORANGE, Calif.— Chapman swim and dive hosted their first meet of 2026 Friday afternoon against Colorado College. The high tops who represent the women's program fell by just 11 points 155.5 to 144.5. Alyssa Kooy led the way going a 24.37 in the 50 yard freestyle while also anchoring the 200 yard medley and leading off the 400 yard freestyle relay. In the 200 medley, her team came in second and she split a 23.79 swimming the freestyle leg. In the 400 free relay, her team also came in second and she went a 24.51 in the lead off position. Cora Buelow came in first in the 200 backstroke going a 2:11.41 and 2:17.09 in the 200 individual medley. 

On the low tops side which represents the men's program, Chapman beat Colorado College 192-108. James Galligan led the way for the low tops earning first in the 200 yard freestyle with a 1:47.80 and competed in the 200 individual medley going a 2:01.77. Ryan Musich highlighted the distance group going a 10:08.20 while placing first in the 1000 yard freestyle. Cooper Na highlighted the sprinting group going a 46.64 in the 100 freestyle and leading off the 200 yard freestyle relay with a 21.36. 

On the diving side, the low tops dominated once again. Reid Omilian won both the one meter and three meter competitions. He put up 307.00 points on the three meter and 303.40 points on the one meter. Freshman Aidan Trautwein finished directly behind Omilian on the three meter with 298.55 points. Senior Jake Randazzo finished behind Omilian on the one meter with 283.20 points. 

Chapman will look to carry the momentum from the competition into their next home meet against Occidental College on Saturday, Jan. 17. The Panthers will also celebrate senior day at that home meet.
