Swim & Dive finishes in third at SCIACs

ORANGE, Calif. — Chapman swim & dive finished off their 2025-26 campaign with an electrifying final day at SCIACs. Both the high tops on the women's side and low tops on the men's side finished in third place. The low tops scored 80 points higher than they did a season ago, putting up 609 points in 2026. The high tops put up 409 points in 2026. 

On the dive side, freshman star and two-time All-SCIAC finisher Aidan Trautwein won Newcomer of the Year in the SCIAC. 

During the last two relays, both the high tops and low tops landed on the podium. The high tops saw Alyssa Kooy, Cora Buelow, Elise Kittleson and Tatum Chambers finish in third and earn a spot on the podium in the 400 freestyle relay after going a time of 3:31.02. The low tops placed second in the 400 freestyle relay after Cooper Na, Max Polovinkin, Trent Calloway and James Galligan swam a blistering 2:59.65 to secure the All-SCIAC spot and second place by over a second. 

Furthermore, Polovinkin and Na took second and fourth in the 100 yard freestyle A Final. Polovinkin earned the All-SCIAC Team nod going a 45.18. Na finished just off the podium going a 45.48. Low tops distance swimmer Ryan Musich led the way finishing sixth in the 1650 freestyle going a 16:14.84. Derek Jones finished in ninth going a 16:27.17 as just a freshman. In the 200 yard backstroke, low tops freshman Harrison Kundahl held his own in the B final going a 1:54.98. In the men's 200 yard breaststroke, Galligan finished in sixth going a blistering 2:03.56. In the men's 200 yard butterfly, Jude Light finished just off the podium, placing fourth while going a 1:49.64. 

On the high tops end, Poet DeBoom finished out the A Final of the women's 200 yard backstroke going a 2:09.54. Buelow followed suit winning the B Final going a 2:05.10. In the women's 100 yard freestyle, Kooy, Chambers and Kittleson held it down in the A and B finals. Chambers and Kittleson finished first and second in the B Final. Kooy finished the A final going a 52.10. In the women's 200 butterfly, Eleanor McElwee had another strong race, going a 2:10.37 in the A Final. Teammate Mati Dixon, who also competes as a diver, placed second in the B Final of the same race.
