LA VERNE, Calif.— Chapman swim and dive dominated on the road against the University of La Verne on Saturday, Jan. 3 to start off the new year in style. The high-tops who represent the women's program won 194-35 while the low-tops who represent the men's program won 216-24.
On the women's side, the high tops led the way in diving as
Mati Dixon left her mark on both the one meter with 169.80 points and three meter with 166.88 points.
Alyssa Kooy led the way in the water going a 2:01.96 in the women's 200 yard freestyle along with helping the women's 200 medley and 400 yard freestyle relays take first place. In the medley relay, Kooy swam alongside
Margo Barclay, Alex Marumoto and
Elise Kittleson going a 1:56.01. In the 400 yard freestyle relay, Kooy swam alongside
Audrey Davis,
Kalla Pellettieri and
Elise Kittleson going a 3:50.48.
Annika Mittlesteadt also led the way for the high tops winning the 1000 yard freestyle in a time of 11:27.17 and the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:17.54. Mittlesteadt also led a 400 yard freestyle relay team that placed in second with a time of 3:57.06.
On the men's side, the low tops led the way in diving at
Aidan Trautwein won the one meter with 305.55 points and came in second on the three meter behind teammate
Reid Omilian with 264.75 points. On the swimming side,
Alex Landmark led the way in the 200 yard freestyle going 1:49.62 to secure first place. He also won the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:03.26.
Swim and dive will gear up to host Colorado College on Friday, Jan. 9 at 12:30 at the Allred Olympic Pool.
