ORANGE, Calif. – Both Chapman University swimming & diving teams and six individuals earned Scholar All-America recognition from the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America.
The CSCAA honors teams after each semester for academic excellence and individual athletes annually for academic achievements alongside athletic accomplishments. This spring, the Panthers' teams joined 763 teams from 432 institutions to maintain a 3.0 team GPA.
McKenzie Abbott, Gracie-Anne Fraunfelder, Tiana Tanizaki-Hudson, Simon Jacobs, Reid Omilian and Jake Randazzo each earned the individual recognition from the CSCAA. Tanizaki-Hudson earned First Team honors for achieving a 3.5 GPA and competing at the NCAA Division III championships.
Jacobs recorded an NCAA "B" cut and achieved a 3.5 GPA for Second Team honors while the remaining four divers (Abbott, Fraunfelder, Omilian, Randazzo) also were recognized on the Second Team for qualifying for Regionals and achieving a 3.5 GPA.
The CSCAA celebrated more than 2,700 swimmers and divers on the Scholar All-America teams.
