Antelope Valley, Calif.— Chapman Men's and Women's Golf competed at SCIAC #2 from April 5-6 in Antelope Valley. The men's team placed fourth in the competition while the women's team finished in sixth out of seven total teams.
On the men's side, the Panthers finished in front of La Verne, Occidental and Cal Lutheran. On the women's side, Chapman finished ahead of La Verne.
Ben Soicher led the men's team finishing second overall while going one under par in the first round and finishing even in the second round. Soicher shot 72 overall at the end of round two.
Conner Conley finished in 12th going six over while shooting 76 overall. Next,
Clay Yarbro finished 18th overall while finishing nine over par and shooting a 77.
Cormack Meldrum rounded out the top 20 going 10 over par and shooting a 77. Lastly,
Dylan Horowitz finished in the top 35 at +20 while shooting 82 overall.
On the women's side,
Payton Anderson finished seventh overall. She shot nine over par while finishing at 75.
Nika Gholami rounded out the top 25 by going 18 over par and shooting a 79.
Ella Michitsch placed in the top 30 while going 25 over par and shooting a 84.
Lillie Dayton and
Kylie Nguyen finished 31st overall while going 28 over. Dayton shot 85 while Nguyen shot 86.
Chapman men's and women's golf will now have the next few weeks off before wrapping up their season hosting the SCIAC Championships in Costa Mesa, Calif. April 27-29.
