ORANGE, Calif. – Lyndsey Huss became the first SCIAC Character Award winner in program history and three teammates joined her on the All-SCIAC women's lacrosse teams. Annika Carlson garnered another First Team honor while Ella Seidel and Tade Scheid were honored on the Second Team.
Huss was the driving force for the Chapman University women's lacrosse team's LaCROSSe Out Cancer Night. The senior captain organized the team's fundraising efforts, which resulted in over $3,000 raised for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation.
Carlson, another senior captain, averaged over two goals per game in SCIAC matches this season. She also contributed three assists and picked up 17 draw controls. She ended her career tied for the most goals in program history and left her name in the top-10 all-time for points, draw controls and caused turnovers. This is also her fifth All-SCIAC award of the school year, earning the honor for cross country as well as winning three track events last weekend.
Seidel led the Panthers with 35 goals and 38 points during the SCIAC season, ranking third in the conference in goals per game. She scored a season-best seven goals on 11 shots in a win over Cal Lutheran. She also led Chapman with 30 draw controls. Scheid scored 14 times during the Panthers' 11 SCIAC matches. She ranked second on the team with 17 draw controls as well as ranking second with nine caused turnovers.
The Panthers finished the season in fifth place in the SCIAC and went 6-11 overall.
