Kiana Tanizaki-Hudson Celebrating

Kiana Tanizaki-Hudson becomes three-time All-American

ORANGE, Calif. — Kiana Tanizaki-Hudson competed and earned All-American second team honors in the 100 yard and 200 yard Butterfly B-Finals at the NCAA 2025 Division III swimming and diving championships in Greensboro, N.C. The senior star is the first athlete in over 20 years to qualify, compete and earn All-American Honors at the meet for Chapman swim.

In the 100 meter fly, Tanizaki-Hudson placed 16th overall and eighth in the B Final with a time of 55.56. During preliminary finals Friday morning, she went a 55.18 and placed 14th heading into finals. Earning a spot in the top 16, Tanizaki-Hudson earned All-American status for the second straight year. The butterfly specialist remains just the second swimmer and third overall in the program's history to earn All-American Honors alongside former Panther swimmer Kati Wise and diver Reid Omilian


On the final day of competition, Tanizaki-Hudson earned her second All-American nod placing top 15 in the 200 yard butterfly final. She went a 2:03.93 during the preliminary competition. In the B final Friday evening, Tanizaki-Hudson went a 2:05.58 placing seventh in the B Final. 

The senior also competed in the 50 freestyle Thursday where she went a 24.54 and placed 54th overall.

Tanizaki-Hudson wraps up her career as one of the most dominant swimmers in Chapman Athletics history. The three-time All-American blazed a trail for the next generation of Panther Swim & Dive. The Hawaii native will graduate from Chapman in May 2025.
