ORANGE, Calif.— Chapman Swim & Dive hosted conference opponents Claremont-Mudd Scripps and Whittier College at home to start off the 2025-26 season in a tri-meet. The low tops defeated Whittier in the dual between the two teams while the High Tops went 1-1 with a win over Whittier but a loss to CMS.
The low tops proved to have a strong performance led by 2025 SCIAC Champion
Trent Calloway who placed first in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:44.56. Along with Calloway,
Jack Krikorian placed first in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 58.80.
Dean Koenders clocked in directly behind Krikorian with a time of 58.93 in the same event.
Cooper Na then rounded out the top performance swimming the 100 yard freestyle in 47.46.
On the low tops diving side, only Chapman competed featuring the two athletes who have won three consecutive SCIAC titles:
Reid Omilian and
Jake Randazzo. Omilian finished with 301.55 points and Randazzo finished with 288.00 points on three meter. One one meter, Omilian finished with a dominant 347.10 points while Randazzo had 299.0 points.
The high tops also competed strongly led by
Alyssa Kooy, who finished first in the 50 and 100 freestyle. Behind Kooy,
Elise Kittleson (100 yards) and
Tatum Chambers (50 yards) followed directly behind Kooy in each race.
Cora Buelow led the way in the 200 yard backstroke clocking a time of 2:07.46.
With their season officially underway, swim and dive returns home on Friday, Nov. 14 to face off against Redlands.
