Sammy Fujii competed Team USA at the 2025 Deaflympics in Tokyo. She came away winning a gold medal in the 4x100 meter mixed medley relay and a bronze in the 4x200 meter freestyle relay. This competition signifies the first time the swimmer medaled at the games, and her third international appearance overall with two Deaflympics and a World Championships appearance under her belt.
In the 4x200 meter freestyle relay, Fujii competed in the opening leg of the relay in preliminary rounds and finals. In the finals, Fujii and co. went a 9:02.33 to secure the Bronze Medal. In their individual heat, the United States earned the top seed, swimming an 8:53.75.
In the 4x100 mixed medley relay, Fujii swam the butterfly covering the third leg of the four person relay. She swam in the preliminary rounds helping Team USA secure the top spot heading into the finals with a time of 4:10.84. Fujii did not compete in the finals, but collected the hardware for competing in qualifying heats.
Fujii competed against athletes from all over the world with athletes hailing from Kazakhstan, China, Ukraine, Poland and Italy among other nations.
